Fans of Firefly & Serenity are being urged to show their support for a Sequel to Serenity by visiting the Universal HD boards on Saturday April 5th just before 8 PM Eastern Standard Time - nothing else required, just be there.
Ni hao again fellow Browncoats! Operation Full Burn is still underway and as “Lift Off” to the series draws near I want to continue to show Universal that the ‘Verse is worth investing in. To do this I’d like Browncoats to show their support for the ‘Verse by showing up to these forums on April 5th just before 8 PM Eastern Standard Time as Serenity break atmo in High Def for the first time this season.
That’s it! That’s all a Browncoat has to do to show their shiny love for the ‘Verse. Just show up to the forums here as Serenity heads out into the High-Definition black for 14 weeks. It’s a piece of pressed protein cake with chocolaty frosting!
As always folks are welcome to say somethin’ if they got words but the point is to get as many Browncoats on the site as we can at one specific time “Lift Off” time in this case.
As of right now the most folks who have ever been on the Universal site at one time has been 90 folks. Sure it’s a nice round number but I want to blow it up with Browncoats so that Universal will see that we are still here and holdin’ for them to make Serenity 2.
That’s the notion folks. I hope to see everyone there… feel free to bring a WHOLE bunch of friends!
OK. we got your attention and we’re not exactly lying but here’s the deal.
Jewel Staite attended the Supanova Expo in Melbourne, Australia this weekend and over the two days graciously answered a lot of questions from fans of Firefly and Stargate Atlantis. During the first session Jewel was asked what she thought the storyline of Serenity would go. Jewel replied, “I always wanted Kaylee to become a mother” and added “hopefully there’ll be a Serenity 2″.
In the Q&A session the following day, a fan asked if there was any reason to still hope for another movie, Jewel’s response was “Absolutely!”.
Jewel also told fans that she’d been asked to go to LA in the Spring to record a commentary for the new special edition of Firefly that they’re working on. Great news for fans, but Jewel wonders why they don’t just make more instead of re-releasing it again.

This edition of the “Sending a Wave” poscast features author PJ Haarsma and friend Nathan Fillion talking about the Kids Need to Read project among other things. This edition is mostly PJ but we have it on good authority that one featuring Nathan will be coming soon.
PJ talks about his Softwire books, how he started out to be a doctor (Hi-larious story!!), Kids reading Science Fiction, founding Kids Need to Read, where he didn’t get his inspiration for The Softwire.
“Sending a Wave” was created by Toni Myers, Wendy Scott & Andrew Thorogood and is produced by Andrew Richards
Jewel has postponed her appearance at the Dallas Comic Con.
Short version of a long explanation is that when the STARGATE filming schedule changed (due to Joe Flanigans father passing away), all actors were put on notice not to travel. The production company shuffled actor schedules around to accommodate time off for Flanigan. Jewel went from having a couple of days off (which made her able to attend our event), to several days off. Now to back up a bit, Supernova (a convention in Australia) had Jewel scheduled to appear on our same weekend for almost a year (they are an annual convention). When she got additional time off Jewel found it only fair to honor her first agreement since they had been advertising her for almost a year, vs. ours where she had only been advertised for a couple of days. Needless to say, we are sorry she can’t join us. We are working with the agency to come up with a replacement, and still working to continue growing our list. Stay tuned throughout the day and week for more info…

“Serenity: Better Days” is based on the planned plot-line for the TV series “Firefly” and will take place before the events of the movie “Serenity”.
Because it’s set to fill in the gap between the series and the movie, fans hope that this means the door is being left open for another movie to carry on where “Serenity” left off.
Parts 2 & 3 will be released in April and May of this year. Another new comic is being planned for 2009. Co-written by Joss Whedon, “A Shepherd’s Tale” will tell the story of Shepherd Book’s past.
